The New Year is always a great time of the year. Even if you had a good or bad year in the direct marketing industry you have a chance for a clean slate. I believe Direct Mail is going to be making a comeback in 2013. I do consistently try and look for the positives, but there is always something special about going to your mail box and seeing the new and exciting offers to choose from. Business owners, new or old, know that this is still a tried and true marketing effort in helping your business grow. New Years is a time for change as we all want to lose weight, stop bad habits, read more, etc…. But what about doing some things to help make you more $$$$. Unless your last name is Gates or Buffett, I’m sure you could use more money! Have you thought about utilizing targeted mailing list to increase your business? How about having a game plan that you write down on paper? Nothing works more than physically writing goals down and having them in front of you every day. How about allocating your time in 60 minute segments? Take at least 4 of your allocated segments for the New Year and dedicate them to each day. Challenge yourself to learning something new in your business. Your goal should be to have yourself be a walking billboard as the “Expert” in your field….Fake it till you make it if you have too. Follow where the Money leads you. If there is a new Automotive Mailing List that few have heard about, then promote the heck out of it! If there is a New Movers List that will get to those “Buyers” quicker than your competitors, then Promote and stand by the product like you own it. The most important part of your New Year business plan should be to have fun and celebrate, not just achieve. And last, but certainly not least, is to help others learn and grow from what you have learned in the past. Give praise as often as you can. Treat your customers like family…that is if you like your family;) Happy selling in 2013 🙂
Sincerely,
Kirk McCormick
